Early Life and Education
Harp was raised in California and pursued her education on the West Coast and in Virginia. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2012, followed by an MBA from Liberty University in 2015, credentials that preceded her entry into conservative media and, eventually, Trump’s political operation.
A Medical Ordeal and a Turn Toward Advocacy
Harp’s public profile began to take shape following a personal health crisis. In 2015, she experienced severe complications stemming from a medical error and was subsequently diagnosed with stage II bone cancer. Her treatment and recovery became closely tied to a piece of legislation Trump signed in 2018: the “Right to Try” law, which expanded access to experimental treatments for terminally ill patients.
In June 2019, Harp appeared on Fox & Friends, where she credited the law with saving her life. The appearance drew attention from Trump himself, according to reporting on her career trajectory, and set the stage for her more prominent role in Republican politics.
From RNC Stage to Cable News Anchor
Trump invited Harp to speak at the 2020 Republican National Convention, a platform that significantly raised her profile within conservative circles. The appearance led directly to a media career: from 2020 to 2022, Harp worked as an anchor for One America News Network (OAN), where she was known as a vocal supporter of Trump and his policies.
Joining Trump’s Political Operation
Harp’s transition from media commentator to political aide came in 2022, when she officially joined Trump’s post-presidency operation. She remained on his staff through the 2024 campaign before being named Executive Assistant to the President in January 2025, following Trump’s return to the White House.
The ‘Human Printer’
Harp’s nickname stems from a habit that has become one of the more distinctive features of her role: she frequently travels with Trump carrying both a laptop and a portable printer. According to those familiar with Trump’s media habits, the president prefers reading printed material over screens, and Harp has taken on the task of printing favorable news coverage, political commentary, and other materials for his review.
She is also described as playing a significant part in shaping Trump’s online presence, particularly on his Truth Social platform. Reporting on White House operations indicates that Harp acts as an intermediary for Trump’s posts—at times taking dictation directly from him, and at other times presenting drafted posts for his approval before they are published.
A Constant, and Debated, Presence
Beyond her formal duties, Harp is frequently described by aides and journalists covering the administration as one of Trump’s most consistent companions, accompanying him on Air Force One, during White House briefings, and on the golf course. Those who have observed the dynamic characterize her role as extending beyond traditional administrative work—serving, in the words of some reporting, as a kind of emotional buffer and enabler of Trump’s daily routine.
People familiar with the relationship describe it as one of mutual, if asymmetric, loyalty: Harp is said to regard Trump with a degree of personal devotion, while the president is reported to view her as an unusually dependable and fiercely loyal member of his staff. Neither characterization has been independently verified beyond the accounts of aides and reporters who have observed the two working together.
