Here We Go Again: The Trump-Kennedy Center

As with all things Trump, it’s never over until it’s … dead and buried in a nuclear strike, metaphorically speaking.

The Kennedy Center’s board voted Thursday to restore President Trump’s name to the Washington performing arts venue’s facade with an inscription reading “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Restored and Renovated By President Donald J. Trump.”

Recall previously that Trump ordered the board to add his name to the facade, i.e., The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.” A judge, however, ruled that such was not permissible. As usual, that ruling got the gears in Trump’s head gyrating toward a way around it, thus Thursday’s vote by Trump appointees.

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled in May that Trump’s name had been added unlawfully because the center cannot be renamed without congressional action. He also ordered that the planned closure for renovations be stopped. The board yesterday also voted to close the center for two years to undergo Trumpian embellishments.

As I said, you can’t win against Trump. Think tariffs as well. Even a Supreme Court ruling didn’t stop him from levying importation fees against virtually every nation on earth.
