Katie Zacharia, the once-new White House press secretary, has called it quits after a disastrous first confrontation with reporters and a disclosure by The Wall Street Journal that she had failed her bar exam, though claiming “lawyer” as one of her qualifications.
Her departure after five days followed a conversation President Trump reportedly had with her. According to the New York Times:
“Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” Trump recalled saying to her. “Katie, do you need this? I don’t think you need this.”
Evidently, she agreed and faded into the MAGA sunset.
