A song from a musical that most of you have probably never heard of, “Damn Yankees,” is called “Whatever Lola Wants,” and the first lyric is, “Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets.” Today, Lola would more likely be the name of a hooker in a TV show or movie, but the song was so famous that Sarah Vaughan made it into a hit.
That being said as a way to explain my headline to this article, Sir Donald has once again prevailed with his revenge list. This time, he’s taken down Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie, a nemesis who voted against Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” and then smeared the president’s reputation in l’affaire Epstein.
In social media posts leading up to tonight’s primary for Massie’s seat, Trump called the 55-year-old Kentucky Congressman a “major sleazebag,” a “moron,” and the “Worst Republican Congressman in History.”
The major media have all called the race for Massie’s opponent, former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein.
Massie has been in the House since 2012. The campaign to compete for Massie’s seat in November was the most expensive House primary campaign in U.S. history.
Today, Trump endorsed another non-incumbent to take out a longstanding Senator, John Cornyn of Texas. His opponent is that state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton, who was impeached and almost convicted, and who was also divorced by his wife a year ago, who accused him of “adultery.”
This one seems a bit tougher to pull off, and if Paxton wins, it could give the Democrats a chance at Cornyn’s seat.
