The woman who believes America’s most popular holiday — Thanksgiving — is a racist/slaveholding celebration just narrowly lost an election for Democrat Party nominee for governor in Wisconsin. Francesca Hong was defeated by less than half a percentage point by another candidate who is far left also, but not so far as to be a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) card-carrying advocate.
For V.I. Lenin acolytes such as Hong, there is just a momentary setback. Even Lenin had to wait until the time was right to board a train at the Finland Station and return to Russia.
Last week, the tables were turned in another narrow vote margin. Far, far, far, far left candidate Abdul El-Sayed narrowly defeated Representative Haley Stevens in a divisive and costly Democrat Senate primary in Michigan.
The winner of yesterday’s down-to-the-wire contest was Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. Before the election, he told the Wall Street Journal:
“There are a lot of people who are scared. She is a self-proclaimed socialist. There are a lot of people worried about not just this party, but this country moving in that direction.”
Of course, his views tend to be on the far side of the left’s spectrum, though he’s smart enough not to talk about axing T-Day.
This may not be over yet, however. By Wisconsin law, a candidate can request a recount if the vote margin is one percent or less.
