Katie Zacharia, former Fox News commentator and now a Truth Social staff member, has been named White House Press Secretary. She succeeds Karoline Leavitt, who left her post for family reasons and has since joined Fox News.
Zacharia worked briefly in Trump 47 for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Most recently, she has served as a senior communications adviser for the Trump Media and Technology Group, aka Truth Social.
She was evidently not President Trump’s first candidate, but “bigger names” reportedly showed no interest in the post.
