Brigitte Macron suffers bad press in the U.S. at the hands of none other than our president and also by a conservative podcaster, Candace Owens, who finds herself in legal jeopardy over her accusation that Ms. Macron is transgender.
Trump, however, riled Emmanuel Macron — and France’s ruling elite — when this week he said that Brigitte Macron treats her husband “extremely badly.” Emmanuel, the French president who imagines himself president of the world, responded by saying Trump’s comments didn’t deserve a response.
Brigitte was recently at the White House for First Lady Melania Trump’s conference on “Fostering the Future Together.” She even sat next to Melania on the dais during the event. Even so, at one point, Melania was accused of pushing Brigitte. Not so nice, U.S. First Lady.
The president’s comments were evidently directed at an infamous push in the face that Brigitte gave Emmanuel on an airplane in 2025, when the two were deboarding in Hanoi on another of Emmanuel’s “save the world” junkets.
For her part, Candace Owens went so far as to run an eight-part series alleging how Brigitte transitioned from male to female. A defamation lawsuit against her is ongoing in Delaware.
