I have always wanted to believe in UFOs, er, UAP (Unidentified Autonomous Phenomena) , but my brain always got in the way.
For instance, I kept wondering, if a superior race could taunt us with space vehicles traveling at speeds beyond our imagination, why they never bothered to drop down and make contact.

Were they afraid of us, whose space vehicles take six hours to get from California to New York? Alternately, why wouldn’t they just conquer us, or put us out of our misery with weapons we coulcn’t defend against?
Anyway, now the Wall Street Journal claims Area 51, for starters, was all a hoax to cover up clandestine efforts to develop unbelievable aircraft and weaponry.
If the WSJ story is accurate, there appear to have been a lot of co-conspirators throughout the decades to perpetuate a disinformation campaign about UFOs and Area 51. Either that, or they had to be pretty dumb. Unfortunately, both could be true.
Writes the WSJ:
“For decades, certain new commanders of the Air Force’s most classified programs, as part of their induction briefings, would be handed a piece of paper with a photo of what looked like a flying saucer.”
The program was discontinued in 2023, so where are the tell-alls by former Air Force commanders about their disinformation campaign?
Only E.T. has the answer, if he would only phone home.
