Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, will be arrestee number one for Zohran Mamdani should he visit New York City. Meanwhile, Netanyahu is saying “not so fast” to the situation in Gaza, where President Trump announced a week ago that eternal peace had broken out.
The Board of Peace, according to Trump, had convinced Hamas to disarm, and in return, Israel would withdraw back to its borders.
The first problem with this scenario arose when Hamas said they would merely store their arms in a warehouse (where they could easily be brought back into action). Now, the Israeli PM says his forces aren’t moving anywhere unless Hamas actually does disarm.
Netanyahu said the Trump administration had sent Israel a draft that Israel did not agree to it and that Israel had sent back comments. He said Israeli forces would continue to do what was necessary to protect themselves, Israeli territory, and Israeli citizens.
The dispute unfolded as Palestinians in Gaza held a mass funeral for more than 100 bodies recovered from the rubble of a November 22, 2023, Israeli strike that killed more than 300 people in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood.
