The thing I always loved about New York in my East Coast days was that the bars were open until 4 a.m., and in many cases, they just latched the door with customers still inside until reopening at 6 a.m.
That aside, the TV news channels I watch — primarily Newsmax and Fox, with some CNN, NewsNation, and CNBC thrown in — are all abuzz with the results of the recent New York mayoral primary for the Democrat Party.

Fear and ghastly predictions about the fate of the city are common threads on the conservative networks because someone named Zohran Momdani beat out Andrew Cuomo and appears headed to be the next mayor.
Donald Trump has already labeled him a communist, and let me weigh in by providing a new nickname for the man, that of Rodan, the monster that devoured Tokyo in a 1956 film (pictured above).
Meanwhile, AOC — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or Sandy as her school chums and bartender clients knew her — has welcomed Rodan’s devouring of Cuomo as a sign that it’s time for “the next generation” to take over American politics. By next generation, she means those with Marxist-Leninist views like hers and Rodan’s.
Now, I haven’t studied the man and his politics too closely, but two things stand out that should send fear down everyone’s political spine (or lack thereof) — first, he wants to take over the food supply, and second, he wants to take over housing, even by force if what the TV talking heads say is true.
Control of food and housing are Stalinesque tactics, so the communist label seems apt from all I’ve heard.
Anyway, Rodan the movie monster doesn’t look all that scary ere these many decades later, what with his chicken-like head. Let’s hope our political Rodan proves just as overblown and illusory.
