My Vote: Elon Musk for Dictator for a Year, With Congress on Permanent Recess

Okay, here I go with a revolutionary idea, so before anyone comes looking for me for treason or something, let me confess to just playing around with my imagination. No harm, no foul, as Chick Hearn (who he?) used to say on Lakers telecasts.

Today, when SpaceX went public, Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire. Demofiends, of course, are already cursing him, and if they get the political power, they’ll no doubt go after him criminally and financially. Remember, they did all they could to dispose of him when he was serving as Director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under President Trump.

I thought he was on the right track with DOGE — reduce federal spending by a cool trillion dollars. Instead, I think he managed to get only $9 billion cut before his term expired. Worse, I don’t think Trump ever had his back.

Trump, if you haven’t noticed, is not only a big tax rate reducer but also a big government spender. He wants $1.5 trillion next year for the Department of Defense/War, for instance, but I actually think that is a great idea. We need to upgrade and replace our weapons stockpile, which was depleted almost completely by an unnecessary war in Iran.

However, he turns a virtual blind eye to widespread pork and vote buying in every federal budget submitted to him for approval, and actually encourages some of it. That’s why I say give Musk a year as dictator to solve federal spending and deal with the backlash from able-bodied people on the federal dole.

Anyway, that fantasy aside, Musk is truly the Alexander Graham Bell of the 21st Century. Not only has he created SpaceX, a $2-billion company that aims to send travelers to Mars, but he has also cornered the EV market in America with Tesla. He also has an underground drilling company and is behind Neuolink, an implant that gives paralyzed people the ability to communicate and work with computers. Some day, it may do more.

Demofiend criticism aside, Elon Musk is definitely a genius. Too bad he was born in South Africa. Otherwise, he could be president. I’d vote for him, and give him lifetime tenure.
