TDS Virus Crosses the Pond and Infects the EU

Pond

Well, well, well, globalists, unite! You have nothing to lose by your fear of Donald Trump — he might be right! — and the resulting Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) that is now infecting the leaders of the European Union (EU). The lone exception to this horrible viral death toll is the leader of NATO, Mark Rutte. He alone appears to know how to handle The Donald.

Following his swing through the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump still has the leaders of the EU scrambling to cope with the aftermath, even after he assuaged every fear they had. He promised no invasion of Greenland to take it over, and then after meeting with Rutte, said his planned punitive tariffs to counter EU’s resistance to his Greenland plans were being withdrawn.

Now, Sir Donald has been carrying out his “art of the deal” negotiations long enough on the world stage for leaders elsewhere to know the routine.

No one in their right mind could honestly have thought he’d invade Greenland. He’d be impeached even by members of his own party if he did so. So that was never really an option on the table. As for the tariff threat of a week ago, that had some real teeth to it, except that it would’ve tanked the world economy had he implemented the new levies.

Now that those two options have been tabled, Trump has given EU leaders two weeks to accede to his Greenland desires, which now appear to be just “sovereignty” for American bases on Greenland, even new ones, and sole right to the island’s rare earth deposits — no grubby Russian or Chinese hands allowed.

The EU’s response? Let’s see: The prime ministers of both Denmark and Greenland have pronounced sovereignty a no-go, and the EU as a whole has put the prior-arranged “Liberation Day” tariff deal with the U.S. on hold. That should do the trick!

Anyway, it’s heartening to see that TDS isn’t confined to North America, and is now taking a heavy toll across the capitals of Europe. Well done, Mr. President.
