Work-related news dominated happenings as the week drew to a close. Elon Musk — who was vilified for cutting workers and programs to save the federal government money — himself received a $1 trillion pay package after the Tesla Board of Directors said yea to the deal.

To celebrate, Musk took to the stage to dance with his company’s humanoid robot, Optimus, at Tesla’s annual meeting in Austin, Texas (where Musk relocated the headquarters from the Stolen State to save taxes).

Tesla’s future, along with contingencies in Musk’s pay package, hinges largely on the development and widespread launch of Optimus robots, which Musk says will eventually handle manufacturing, deliveries, and even personal assistance.

On the other side of the employment front, Condé Nast fired four unionized staffers after they protested outside the personnel director’s office over the layoff of employees at Teen Vogue. when it was merged with Vogue.

Human Resources Manager Stan Duncan axed the four after he asked them to return to work and they demurred.
