Let’s see: Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is now a certified poliltical illness, nay, disability. It looks like Musk Derangement Syndrome (MDS) has now joined the clinical category. Thus far, no one has found a cure. The disease seems terminal, as in, “till death do us part” applies.
All that aside, I want to focus on the subject of MDS, Elon Musk himself. Now there are a lot of geniuses in the world, but for the vast majority, their genius is limited to one field, say medicine, engineering, literature, law, you name it.
Elon Musk, however, is that rare phenomenon who is a multi-pronged genius. Not only was he the first to create and successfully sell an electric vehicle, the Tesla, but he is also engaged — successfully and brilliantly — in government restructuring, rocket science, solar batteries (I have one installed at my home for my solar panels), underground transportation, and medicine.
As for the government part, I looked up DOGE.gov this morning to see what his team has been doing. And by the way, his team is not a bunch of 20something techno whizkids. Joining him in his quest to downsize and rightsize government to prevent a national bankruptcy are CEOs and accomplished businesspersons — even a rocket scientist — who are working with him on his discovery process, that is, undercovering waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government, aka The Swamp.
Just yesterday, the DOGE team uncovered and canceled:
-$229,296 for marketing 100% organic shea butter in Burkina Faso
-$84,059 for a business incubator for spa & wellness entrepreneurs in Nigeria
-$239,738 for marketing pineapple juice in Benin
My headline made two points — Musk is going to save us from national bankruptcy if allowed to continue without court interference, but he is also poised to help many individuals recover physical and mental functions that they had lost to disease or crippling birth defects. This he aims to do through his development of what his known as the neurolink.
Neurolink is described as a “brain computer interlink.” Their site explains the device and its implementation this way:
“The implant, or Link, is our fully implantable, cosmetically invisible, wireless brain-computer interface (BCI) designed to restore autonomy to people with paralysis. It enables users to operate their phones and computers with just their thoughts, a capability we call ‘Telepathy’.”
Scary that a computer device can save lives and restore capabilities long lost. It is hoped — and envisioned — that in the future the neurolink can help paraliyzed people walk again, or for the first time. Talk about genius.
Final thought: If Musk is a Nazi to Demofiends, good luck to you fellow-traveler protestors. You may need him to save you some day, as he is now embarking on a quest to save the nation from bankruptcy.
