Happy Independence Day From Waffle House: Consumers No Longer Face a 50-Cent Egg Surcharge

I love Waffle House. If you’ve never been, it’s probably because you haven’t been to the South or some Midwestern locations where the chain has outlets.

As the name implies, the specialty is waffles, but their egg dishes are also to write home about.

Waffle House is now dropping its 50-cent, per-egg surcharge due to egg shortages earlier this year. Now, that’s something to celebrate on this July Fourth.

According to a graphic I just found, there are 445 Waffle Houses in Georgia, followed by North Carolina with 185 and South Carolina with 178. Other Sourhern locations also have scores of locations: Alabama (159) Florida (152), Tesax (130), and then the Lone Wolf Midwestern hub of Ohio, with 85.

I personally experienced a Waffle House breakfast while in Louisiana, which has 104 sites. Yum!
