One lawsuit involved a Maryland law banning the possession of semi-automatic weapons such as AR- and AK-style rifles.
A Rhode Island lawsuit challenged that state’s restriction on high-capacity magazines, those holding more than 10 rounds. Those in possession of such magazines can modify them, turn them over to the state, or get them the hell out of Rhode Island.
Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the sole dissenting opinion, while Brett Kavanaugh noted that other cases involving the ban of AR-style rifles will give the court another chance, a nice cop-out.
