Writing from Stage MAGA Right, President Trump Advises Zelenskyy to Take the War to Russia

President Trump has found his voice now that he’s handing off the pursuit of peace in Ukraine to Europe and Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Trump almost even tipped his hand — that is, the hand he’s washed of the whole Ukraine mess — in a social media post today. He wrote:

Trump comparing his meeting with Putin to Nixon’s confrontation with Khrushchev.

“It is very hard, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking an invaders [sic] country. It’s like a great team in sports that has a fantastic defense, but is not allowed to play offense. There is no chance of winning! It is like that with Ukraine and Russia.”

To me, that sounds like a tacit admission that a peace deal with Vladimir Putin is next to impossible unless everyone caves to the dictator’s terms, or makes him have something to lose if fighting continues.

Remember, under President Biden, Ukraine was basically prohibited from attacking Russia until close to the end of his presidency when missible were supplied that could reach Russia.

Trump’s post went on: Joe Biden would not let Ukraine FIGHT BACK, only DEFEND.”

Of course, it would be easy to say: “Here we go again with Trump’s repeated claim that the war wouldn’t have started under him. And now, he’s blaming Biden for not allowing more offense by Ukraine.”

At this point, Zelenskyy’s main and perhaps only hope of taking the war into Russia to even the odds and bring about a more equal peace is through drones.

Trump himself could help with the Ukrainian offense against Russia if he would unleash those sanctions and tariffs against Russia that he keeps hinting at but never delivers.

N.B. Stage MAGA Right is from an earlier reference I made to what Trump was doing after the failed Alaska Summit — exiting Stage MAGA Right as if in a stage play, and washing his hands of the whole Ukraine mess.
