Who Woulda Thunk It? Homes with a Median Price of $122,000, Average Rents at $906, and It’s All Near the Beach

Brownsville

Affordability crisis? Not if you’re looking to buy a home or rent one along the Gulf of America. As mentioned in the headline, the median home price here is $122,000 and rents average $906.

Home prices like that haven’t existed where I live — Southern California — since the 1970s, or 1980s if you go inland. The catch with the above scenario? The location is Brownsville, Texas, and if you want to move there, you’d better vote Republican.

If the Democrats get back in power and open the border, you can wake up to hundreds of illegal aliens, fresh daily to America, traversing your town, or worse, perhaps taking up residence.

You see, Brownsville is on the border and near the coast, where the beach scene is just fine. The border is the tricky part. It can become porous really quickly.

Brownsville, population 188,000, is known as the “Taco Capital of Texas.”

The ranking as the most affordable destination in the U.S. comes from a site called Niche.com, which weighs a variety of factors in its rankings. Fortunately, Brownsville also ranks highly in public education, with its schools earning A or A+ ratings.

Not bad, just hope Republicans stay in power while you live here.
