President Trump is moving quickly to do a Pontius Pilate and wash his hands of the war in Ukraine. He has invited Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy to the White House on Monday to put in motion another summit.
Bit instead of asking “What is truth?” as Pilate did, Trump will no doubt get in his continued mantra that “This war never would’ve happened if I were President.”

My take is that this will be one of Trump’s final acts regarding the war in Ukraine. Sure, if there is a second summit (chances: about 5 percent), he will attend, but otherwise, he is handing it all off to Zelenskyy and the European leaders who have been so vocal.
According to Axioa, in calls from Air Force One on Friday, Trump told Zelensky and the NATO leaders that Putin doesn’t want a ceasefire and prefers a comprehensive agreement to end the war.
“The impression was that in return for territory, Putin is willing to end the war and commit not to try and occupy more areas in Ukraine and to not attack other countries,” a source told Axios.
Advantage: Putin. Victory: Putin.
