Trump Takes a (Bad) Page Out of the Biden Playbook and Has the FBI Raid a Critic’s Home

Donald Trump is playing dumb to the whole situation, but the FBI has raided the home and office of a prominent critic of the president, John Bolton, who used to be Trump 45’s National Security Advisor and is now a CNN commentator

The aim of the raid was — catch this — to find any classified documents illegally obtained. Sound like Mar a Lago?

Both the FBI and Bolton himself have been quiet about the whole operation. FBI Director Kash Patel — again echoing the Biden people — noted that “no one is above the law.” Trump said he only learned of the raid after it took place.

Bolton, from what I’ve heard of his commentary on CNN about Trump’s recent peace negotiations, has often been pretty spot on.

But today, Bolton took on Trump and his peace negotiations in a very critical way, writing: “It is unconscionable to allow Russia to assault Ukraine’s sovereignty, recruit enemies like North Korea to aid in their fight, and then sell out the Ukrainians by conceding the loss of their territory and NATO security guarantees or membership. “

He also accused Trump and Vice-President Vance of having “declared themselves to be on Russia’s side in the Russo-Ukraine war.”

I won’t go that far. My take is that the president has exited “Stage MAGA Right” from negotiations and thrown the ball into the Zelenskyy–Colation of the WIlling court.

I’m waiting to learn why Bolton was subject to FBI raids, and why this raid was justified but the raid on Mar a Lago wasn’t.
