I watch ESPN from time to time, but mainly just when scrolling through various TV channels hoping to find something that catches my interest. Stephen A. Smith, ESPN sportscaster, usually has a way of capturing my attention depending on the subject at hand. I mean this man brings it when he speaks.
I particularly like the fact that he hates the Dallas Cowboys, but perhaps just disfavors them is a better term. I for a long time have found reason to “disfavor” the NFL Dallas franchise.

For instance, they call themselves”America’s Team” — give me a break. If you fall for that, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. And owner Jerry Jones with his pontifications — yuck, puke, nausea.
Anyway, I bring up Smith because following the 2024 presidential election, he became one of the few Democrats to make any sense. Actually, I should say “two” instead of “few,” the other being Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania.
Anyway, as I scrolled the channels this morning, all the news programs were focused on the Los Angeles riots — er, anti-ICE demonstrations (despite the looting, cars on fire, rock throwing, Molotov Cocktails, etc.).
Conservative outlets tended to favor Trump’s mobilizing the California National Guard and sending in the Marines, while the liberal media (everybody else) were well along with numerous Nazi references.
Then, as I was switching out of Fox News (the liberal channel with conservative pretensions), Stephen A. Smith came on for some brief comments. He took issue with California Governor Gruesome’s criticism of Trump’s actions, saying:
“Why the hell are you playing right into the hands of Donald Trump? Because I’ve got news for you, it involved migrants, immigrants, those who are undocumented, dare we say illegal in the United States of America. He’s winning on this issue. There’s a reason he won the popular vote.”
Many have touted Smith as a frontrunner for the 2028 Demofiend presidential nod. Believe me, they could do a helluva lot worse. Smith would put up a barn burner of a fight for the job.
