President Trump had the grass in the Rose Garden at the White House paved over in June, and today he wanted to hold his first major event there. Mother Nature had other plans as rain forced everything and everyone inside.
The event was a dinner featuring an exchange of ideas by tech giants regarding artificial intelligence (AI) and plans for future investments in the U.S.

Trump and First Lady Melania presided over the evening event, which consisted largely of “thank yous” from the gathered executives, including Tim Cook of Apple, Sam Altman of OpenAI, Sundar Pichai of Google, Arvind Krishna of IBM, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, and several others.
“I know everybody at the table indirectly through reading about you and studying, knowing a lot about your business, actually making it very easy for you in terms of electric capacity and getting it for you, getting your permits,” Trump said, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
Earlier in the day, Melania Trump moderated the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education roundtable.
