NBC, the National Broadcasting Company, started in 1926 and now owned by Comcast, is getting ready for a yard sale of its cable channels by year-end.
Up for sale are MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Syfy, Golf, Oxygen, and E! MSNBC will be renamed MS NOW, or My Source News Opinion World. The parent company will retain Bravo.
CNBC, which originally stood for Consumer News and Business Channel, will retain its name but will develop a new logo. NBC is withdrawing its trademark peacock logo (shown above) from its cable channels.
Comcast is pricing the spinoff of its cable channels at $7 billion.
