Jimmy Kimmel to Return to His Nighttime Show Sans Apology or Explanation for His Remarks
Jimmy Kimmel will return to his late-night TV show tonight, but two ABC network affiliates are refusing to run his show. Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair both said they would run alternative programming.
Nexstar said it would stand by its decision “… pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.”

Nexstar owns 30 stations affiliated with ABC, and together with Sinclair, the two control about a quarter of all ABC/Disney channels.
Sinclair had even stronger demands before it would reinstate Jimmy Kimmel Live! The first demand was for an apology from Kimmel himself. Furthermore, a Sinclair statement said, “we ask Mr. Kimmel to make a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA.”
Sinclair claims to be “the nation’s largest ABC affiliate group.”
