Is the ‘Wall Street Journal’ Finally Giving MAGAnistas and Trump a Little Respect for a Change?

I have certainly mentioned on more than a few occasions the disdain for Donald Trump shown by the Fox Corporation (parent of Fox News), but in light of the Charlie Kirk Memorial yesterday, is that stance altering a bit for the better?

Probably not, but in today’s edition the Wall Street Journal is running an article with the headline “A Splintered GOP Shows Signs of Unity in Wake of Charlie Kirk Killing.”

Of course, then the article focuses on what it sees as divisions in the GOP over foreign entanglements, the Epstein Papers, and Trump’s messy falling out with Elon Musk.

“But all those differences appeared to fall away on Sunday,” the article goes on, noting how many speakers saw the five-hour event as “a revival,” not only of Christian faith but also of the Republican Party.

Kirk’s widow, Erika, in her moving speech preceding President Trump’s, seemed to sum matters up succinctly: “After Charlie’s assassination, we didn’t see violence, we didn’t see rioting, we didn’t see revolution. Instead, we saw what my husband always prayed he would see in this country. We saw revival.”

However, I’ll give the WSJ less than 24 hours before it tears into Trump and his administration once again, maybe on vaccinations, maybe on the “two-state solution” to the Gaza conflict, maybe in a comment Trump makes in response to a reporter’s question.

But the animus is sure to return even as the party itself moves on with renewed vigor and focus.
