When I worked for a teachers’ union, whenever their livelihood or power was threatened, they’d pull out signs that read “For the Children” and then stage demonstrations at local schools to get publicity on the evening news.
The demonstrations almost never involved the so-called children who were somehow being threatened by the Board of Education, the mayor, the governor, or some other political body. It was usually a case of more money for teachers (and therefore higher dues paid to the union) or self-preservation when the power of the union was being threatened.

That’s why I was so happy to see an amateur journalist in Minnesota uncover the widespread fraud being carried out “For the Children” at daycare and autism centers.
Nick Shirley, in a YouTube video, visits a so-called learning center (misspelled on the center’s sign as “Learing Center”) and a so-called autism services center to enroll his fictional son Joey. In the course of his doing so, it becomes clear that neither establishment had a single child under its care.
Both establishments were recipients of massive government funding “for the children” under their care, when of course, there were no children being cared for.
I doubt Shirley will ever get Pulitzer Prize consideration for journalism, but he outdid all the media, traditional or conservative, in all of 2025 with his exposure of fraud being carried out in open daylight for all to see.
Hats off to you, Mr. Shirley.
