Day-After Assessment of ‘Eternal MidEast Peace’ Coverage: CNN Proves Its Mettle at Hard-Hitting Telejournalism
Sorry, Fox, and Sorry, Newsmax, though I prefer your political “slant” on news coverage, rival CNN once again proved yesterday that it is much superior at coverage of hard-hitting news.
Yesterday, of course, was October 13, 2025, the day when the remaining 20 living Israeli hostages were returned home as part of a ceasefire engineered by President Trump, who preferred to refer to the occasion as the first peace in the Middle East in “3,000 years.”
Aha.

Anyway, though both Fox and Newsmax have on-the-ground correspondents in Tel Aviv, Israel, they chose to “anchor” the coverage of the news of “Eternal MidEast Peace” (sorry, Mr. Trump, for my extrapolation, but it ain’t far off from your words) from their New York newsrooms.
CNN, in contrast, sent mainstays Wolf Blitzer and Kaitlan Collins over to anchor their coverage from Israel itself.
This is not to say that I watched CNN the whole time, or even most of the time. I also split time watching as events transpired from early morning to late evening Israel/Egypt time on BBC World News and on France 24 English version.
Along with CNN, those two channels provided the best on-the-spot coverage and thus the most in-depth coverage.
Hats off to these three networks, none of which is in the least a Trump supporter, but on this day they proved to be “fair and balanced,” to use a Fox slogan.
