CNN Calls the Race for Virginia Governor for Spanberger, in What Could Be a Big Night for the Left*

Span

CNN loves its polls, and only an hour or so after voting closed in Virginia on election night, the network called the Governor’s race for Democrat Abigail Spanberger. She becomes the state’s first female chief executive and succeeds a rare Republican holder of the position in Glenn Youngkin.

Another gubernatorial race in a typically Blue State, New Jersey, has yet to be called, where Trumpista Jack Ciattarelli hopes to become the state’s first GOP governor since Chris Christie. Ciattarelli faces anti-Trumper Mikie Sherrill. The GOP candidate lost narrowly in 2021 in the gubernatorial contest that year.

California, under who-knows-what-he-is-except-an-egomaniac Gavin Newsom, is weighing a ballot measure to counter Texas’s addition of five GOP Congressional Districts with five new gerrymandered Demofiend districts in the Stolen State.

Meanwhile, all of these contests seem dwarfed by the mayoral battle in New York City, where former Governor Mario Cuomo finds himself in what appears to be a losing battle against Democratic Socialist (aka Communist) Zohran Mamdani.

My prediction: It will be a good night for the left. Ciattarelli seems to have the only legitimate shot at winning, though a long one it is.

*Oops … just about a half-hour after I wrote this, the outlets called the N.J. race for Sherrill. As I said, a big night for Demofiends, so no need to keep updating this.
