Amazon, which certainly enriched Jeff Bezos, this week joined a growing flood of companies cutting white-collar jobs by the boatload as they discover artificial intelligence (AI) is much more cost effective.
These days, it’s hard to call a business and not be greeted by AI. If you go to a website and pose a question on a chatbot, AI will swiftly answer you.
Just this week, Amazon said it was taking the knife to 10 percent of its white-collar crowd, some 14,000 souls. United Parcel Service (UPS) matched Amazon soul for soul at 14,000 announced cuts. Target was more kind-hearted with only 1,800 announced layoffs.

“Review asap and stay home from work today,” read a typical email sent to dismissed Amazon workers.
Ouch! You don’t even get two weeks’ notice?
My fear is that, as this AI tidal wave of job destruction sweeps across the country, voters will be lured to socialist and ultimately communist alternatives in politics.
Let’s face it: College graduates these days already possess four years of being taught to hate themselves and their countries and to engage in communist dreams.
