If you recall back in the aftermath of Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential sweepstakes, two individual supporters were in the mix to run the envisioned Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). One of course was Elon Musk, who ended up solely helming the agency, and the other was Vivek Ramaswamy. In short order, Ramaswamy announced he was exiting the DOGE lineup to run for governor of Ohio.
Not much was said about it at the time except for some rumors that he and Musk didn’t interact that well, but in light of Musk’s recent tirade against Donald Trump over who knows what exactly, Ramaswamy may have made a rather wise choice.

News now resurfaces that in 2021 Musk revealed that he had Asperger’s, which some have speculated contributed to his recent outbursts and feud with Trump. I’m no doctor, so I used my buddy AI to tell me about Asperger’s.
First, Asperger’s is a form of what is called autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Second, those with ASD, according to my AI assistant, “may experience challenges with social interaction, communication, and behavior.”
I’ll leave it at that, but from our experience with one Donald John Trump from his political and business life, we understand that he doesn’t, to use a well-worn phrase, “take things lying down.” In other words, he fights back.
As for Musk’s motivation in picking a fight, which it appears he did since we don’t have a full background report yet, several motivating factors have been suggested, including his displeasure with the pending “big beautiful bill,” the withdrawal of his friend’s name as nominee for NASA head, lack of EV credits in the Republican tax package, and in Trump’s vision, withdrawal symptoms from leaving the seat of power.
Who knows? But I still hold Musk in high regard as a genius who can help transform the world, though politics may not exactly be his strong suit.
