Rapper Nicki Minaj joined Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erika Kirk during TPUSA’s four-day AmericaFest conference held in Phoenix. Minaj, an outspoken supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, voiced unabashed words of praise for President Donald Trump.

“Well, I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president,” she told Kirk. “I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys; and to win, and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact.

“Even in the worst-feeling times in your life, you think that you’re never going to come back from it, but you do. And our president shows that.”

Speaking on the last day of the event on Sunday, Minaj preceded Vice-President JD Vance on the program, but she had words of praise for him as well:

“This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them. Our vice president, he makes me — well, I love both of them,” Minaj said, referring to Vance and Trump. “Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.”

As matters proceeded from day one, the conference showcased some disagreements among the TPUSA faithful, who often took verbal jabs at each other, with Megan Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Ben Shapiro being a few of the primary culprits.

Vance was actually endorsed by Kirk on opening day as her candidate of choice for president in 2028. That endorsement helped spark the disagreements among speakers that followed.

By the time Vance took the stage, the infighting had already fostered some discord among the faithful. He immediately said he wasn’t in the business of discarding or de-platforming people from within Turning Point.

Speaking of the MAGA movement, Vance vowed to welcome all into the fold: “We don’t care if you’re white or black, rich or poor, young or old, rural or urban, controversial or a little bit boring, or somewhere in between.”

For 2028, the question might be: “Is Vance too boring to follow in Trump’s footsteps?” AOC is waiting to test him.
