Ukrainian President Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy recently was in Berlin to — once again — say the war is over if you don’t send me more money. They did to the tune of $105 billion. It was a loan, but does anyone really expect the loan ever to be repaid?
Zelenskyy is enjoying a rock star’s lifestyle, constantly flying around Europe and the United States with the ostensible goal of raising support for his country’s effort against the Russian invasion. Money, money, money.
I’ve asked it before, and I’ll ask it again: how much of these funds are now in a secret Swiss bank account with an pseudonym or number representing the person of Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy? His top aide recently came under fire for such behavior. Is there any reason not to suspect Z’s hands are in the pot as well?
Is Zelenskyy ever at home? It seems he’s always in some capital somewhere crying wolf to raise money and arms. He even met with the pope before he died, and he’s been down south to Turkey in his quest. He also famously visited Trump in the White House twice.
Does he really want this lavish lifestyle to end? If the war is brought to a close and he must face an election, what will Zelenskyy do without his globetrotting?
My belief is that Zelenskyy would be happy to remain forever in his seat of power and continue rock-starring it across the European and American continents, while making sure he and his wife are well taken care of when the day of reckoning comes, the day being the end of the war and the end of his power.
Just a thought, all this.
Maybe he’s the only honest politician on the face of the planet, but what are the odds of that?
