Putin Puts Kibosh on Optimism from Recent EU-US-Ukraine Talks in Berlin over a Peace Deal

Vladimir Putin, Russian dictator and warmonger extraordinaire, has done it again: “Take it, you peaceniks. Russia will get what it wants in Ukraine despite your feeble peace talks.” Or words to that effect.

Putin has called the leaders of Europe “piglets” and vowed to achieve his aims in Ukraine, whether through negotiations or warfare.

“The goals of the special military operation will undoubtedly be achieved,” Putin told members of Russia’s Defense Ministry, according to the Wall Street Journal

“If the opposing side and their foreign patrons refuse to engage in substantive discussions, Russia will achieve the liberation of its historical lands through military means.” Notice how he considers Ukraine part of Russia’s “historical lands.”

This follows talks in Berlin involving negotiators from the European Union, the United States, and Ukraine. Following the confab, participants gloated that they were “90 percent” finished on viable peace terms. The optimism sprang from Trump agreeing to get a Senate resolution to support Ukraine militarily (but not through troops) if Putin breaks the peace.

Stay tuned for President Trump’s televised speech tonight. Will he address Ukraine, or is this purely an affordability issue opportunity?
