U.S. Pauses Some Arms Shipments to Ukraine, Prompting Russia to Claim Our Weapons Warehouses Are Empty

Secretary of Defense/War Pete Hegseth says a “review” has led the Pentagon to pause shipment of some arms to Ukraine, including air defense missiles.

Russia was quick to welcome the news while claiming that U.S. arms warehouses are emptying out, or already empty, prompting the move.

“As far as we understand the reason for this decision was empty warehouses, lack of these weapons in warehouses. But in any case, the fewer weapons are supplied to Ukraine, the closer the end of the special military operation,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters in a phone call, according to the CNN website.

A White House spokesperson claimed the move was made to “put America’s interests first.”

Kyiv reacted with arm over the loss of Patriot and Hellfire ground-to-air-missiles and other weapons.

“The Ukrainian side emphasized that any delay or procrastination in supporting Ukraine’s defence capabilities will only encourage the aggressor to continue the war and terror, rather than seek peace,” a statement from the Ukraine Foreign Ministry asserted.

To me, the move represents a prelude to President Trump’s planned meeting with Vladimir Putin, a diplomatic poker play to get the Russian dictator to cease hostilities and be satisfied with territorial gains made so far.

Of course, I don’t think Putin is at all serious at stopping his aggression when he clearly has the upper hand. He wants all of Ukraine.

But, of course, what do I know and what are my credentials to make my assertions?

Time will tell if I’m on the right path or not in my assessments. Stay tuned as history unfolds.
