Cabinet Love Fest Greets Trump Announcement of Phase One of the Israeli-Hamas Peace Accord
Count me among those who consider the emerging peace accord between Israel and Hamas to be one of the great achievements of the 21st Century, provided everything pans out as detailed in the Trump 20-Point Plan.
Today, at a cabinet meeting in the White House, President Trump announced the successful completion of Phase One of his plan, the phase that sees all hostages released in return for Israel drawing back its forces to pre-defined limits, along with the exchange of hundreds of Hamas and Palestinian prisoners, many facing life terms.

Trump said the hostages should be released on Monday or Tuesday. Of course, some grey areas still exist. First, Hamas claims not to have all the hostages under its control. Other terror organizations hold some. Second, of course, is the ongoing issue of Hamas disarmament, which the group has steadfastly rejected.
Nonetheless, if the exchange and withdrawal take place, hats off to Trump and his team and everyone in the Middle East who worked to make this possible.
I watched the Trump cabinet meeting this morning on TV. As usual, each department head had his or her own time to report on current initiatives and achievements.
Great, except it became an obsequious love fest over who could praise Trump more for his achievements. That part got a bit hard to take.
As for Nobel Peace Prize aspirations, yes, President Trump absolutely deserves the prize if his plan achieves its goals.
Problem is, the Nobel committee hates Trump. My guess is that they’ll give the award to a group of individuals, perhaps Erdogan of Turkey, and others from Qatar and/or Egypt.
Despite the Nobel Prize Committee’s prejudice, this is indeed a great achievement, and Trump deserves most if not all the credit for pulling it off.
(I’d include Benjamin Netanyahu among those deserving credit, but no way will the Nobel Peace Vommittee ever honor an Israeli Jew, especially one whom they consider a warmonger.)
