Trump Releases JFK Files to Joint Media Silence: Nothing New Here

Oliver Stone, who made the iconic and controversial film titled “JFK,” gets it. He is calling for a new investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He is among a handful of selldom-heard voices that believe there’s more to what happened in Dallas on November 22, 1963, than what meets the eye — especially the eye of the established media, who greeted the recent release of the JFK files with a collective yawn.

At the time of his assassination, Kennedy was calling for a shake-up of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and looking for ways to disengage in Vietnam. Just ask RFK Jr., who is now the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), about what was going on. Or, if it were possible, ask Richard Nixon, who succeeded JFK as president after Lyndon Baines Johnson, or LBJ, spent about two nanoseconds mounring the loss of JFK before he took the oath of office as president.

I include Nixon, because his demise began when he told the director of the CIA: “I know who killed Kennedy.” Oops. Did he mean the CIA was involved, or ochestrated the whole tragedy, or even had someone pull the trigger to finish off the would-be CIA disruptor?

Things get really complicated here, as few if any seem willing to investigate possible CIA involvement in the Watergate break-in of Democratic Headquaters just prior to the 1972 election (which Nixon won in a landslide). Frankly, does anyone really believe this Deep Throat nonsense? As I said, things get complicated, probably deliberately so.

In my opinion, the CIA should be abolished, and a new agency created that features no one who ever worked for the CIA or did contract work for the federal investigative arm, which is supposed to be focused solely on foreign threats to the nation’s security.

Stone told a Congressional task force after the documents’ release:

“Let us reinvestigate the fingerprints of intelligence all over Lee Harvey Oswald — from 1959 to 1960, his violent death in 1963, and most importantly, this CIA, whose muddy footprints are all over this case,” Stone said.

Let us indeed.
